Safety through many years of experience.
HILLER decanters and systems are used in many applications that require explosion protection. This applies, for example, to numerous areas of industrial production, raw material processing, and environmental technology, where products may create potentially explosive atmospheres. To protect both personnel and equipment, appropriate safety measures must be implemented depending on the product.
As a German manufacturer, HILLER always uses ATEX (ATmosphère EXplosive) as the standard design basis. However, execution according to country-specific requirements (e.g., NEC 500 or NEC 505) is also possible.
Explosion-proof HILLER decanters and systems are assessed according to Directive 2014/34/EU and can be supplied for various Ex zones, gas groups, and temperature classes.
When it comes to the complex and safety-critical topic of explosion protection, HILLER relies on many years of experience and in-house expertise. In addition, HILLER employs SCC-certified personnel (SCC – Safety Certificate Contractors).
The term “explosion-proof” can encompass a wide range of measures depending on the application. In the simplest cases, the use of explosion-proof drive motors and instruments is sufficient. As the potential hazard increases, so do the requirements for design and construction – up to so-called “gas-tight” designs, which are flushed with inert gas. Installing the control panel within a potentially explosive area can be achieved using pressurized or encapsulated control cabinets. Additionally, HILLER decanters can be equipped with fully hydraulic drives to allow full variability of bowl and differential speeds without the need for a frequency converter.
For such a safety-critical and complex topic as explosion protection, HILLER offers customers the advantage of long-standing experience. Based on this expertise, HILLER can design, manufacture, and commission decanters and systems tailored to the specific requirements of their intended operation.
